Monster Jam

Andrew and Ethan enjoyed Monster Jam last night. I thought Ethan would be exhausted as they didn't get home until 10:30, however, he was still talking about the trucks and bikes when he came through the door. In the end Ethan has decided he wants to ride motor bikes when he grows up and his mother is less than thrilled with that idea!!

Here is a photo synopsis of the evenings events...

This last one is my favorite!!

New Brunswick Bound!!

Well it's official...as most of you know we have purchased airline tickets to come home for Kelly's wedding. We are home from the 14 to the 26 of June so hopefully we will slide in some quality time with everyone over the course of our visit. Rachel asked me if we were staying with Nanny and I told her that Nanny has a cat now and Ethan is allergic so unfortunately we can't...her reply was "I'm not allergic, he can stay with Papa". She's too funny sometimes. She also asked me if nanny still has that candy drawer. Nanny if your reading this you better stock up!

Ethan and I met the speech pathologist yesterday and established his goals for his 8 wk session. I was glad to hear that it is nothing major and just some grammatical issues that should be addressed. I think he impressed her when he started telling her about the animals in the rain forests dying because farmers are cutting all the trees. Yes, at almost four he knows this??

Rachel had 4 A+ days and one D day (the teacher grades their behaviors daily to ensure they behave...maybe I should do that at home??). I think her off day was because she was over tired. Andrew and Ethan are going to Monster Jam tomorrow as part of Ethan's B-day present and Rachel and I are having a girls night. Nail polish, popcorn, and Ice Princess movie a perfect evening in the eyes of a 6 year old.

Love,

Stephanie:)

Painting, parenting, working and time marches on...

Five minutes is all I ask for sometimes but it never seems to happen. Rachel, Ethan and I spent a nice evening playing with flash cards and reading books. The painter was there yesterday and he finished the first coat on the family room, living room, and kitchen. Although I am still not a 100% sold on the color, it is growing on me. Why is it that paint always looks better on the paint chip? So this morning Ethan came into my room when I was in the shower and I asked him if he peed the bed? This seems to be a problem that has developed over the past couple of weeks. His answer was yes but he put on new P.J's so it's o.k. AGHHHHH!!! I so lost my temper!! What is causing this?? So off I go to spend the next 20 minutes cleaning his bed, sheets, and P.J's. At this point I have already told him I am taking away his toys, gameboy, and we only have time for one breakfast this morning (he usually has 2). I'm surprised I didn't tell him he was going to boot camp for bed wetters. I feel bad, I know I over reacted, but I couldn't help it. I can't wait for Andrew to come home on Friday.

Hilary Duff Concert

O.K. lately I have been doing things on a whim and yesterday was no exception. Rachel had pointed out to me last week that the next time Hilary Duff came to town I promised to take her. How was I supposed to know it was going to be 6 months later? Honestly I didn't even know she was coming again until she mentioned it and at that point there were no seats left besides seats in the nose bleed section (Hilary would have been a spec from that far away).

Yesterday I decided to check ticket master and low and behold they obviously released more seats and they were fantastic. Ticket master started the countdown and I had 2 minutes to decide or they would release the tickets. We all know I don't work well under pressure, $120.00 later I had purchased them. Oh yeah, major catch, I didn't have a babysitter for that second child I am solely responsible for. Yes, ticket master needs to understand that 2 minutes is not long enough to rationalize things. Anyway, Super Katie came to the rescue and I decided to surprise Rachel. I video taped it thinking I couldn't miss her overwhelming reaction when I tell her (this was for Andrew's sake as well). If I knew how to upload clips I would because her reaction was not at all what I anticipated. Sort of like this "sure, o.k. then". Where was the screaming, I love you Mom, your the best?? Nope just a casual sure was what I got.

Once we got to the show things turned around for me. First of all we were no more than 20 Ft from the stage. Why is it one of the best seats I've ever had at a concert was for Hilary Duff?? Rachel was in awe of all the people, the stage, the atmosphere and then the show began...I'll let the pictures tell the rest of the story...

The icing on the cake was when we were leaving the venue and Rachel said "Mom, this was the best girls night ever!!". I love that kid.
